Arsenal vs Manchester City

Matches don't come much bigger than this. Arsenal and Manchester City clash at the Emirates with the Gunners looking to leapfrog their title rivals into top position.

The Cityzens have endured a rather unexpected slump of late, losing to Newcastle in the Carabao Cup before suffering a shock defeat league defeat to Wolves. No such issues for Arsenal, they are flying and remain undefeated this season.

Manchester United vs Brentford

Can Manchester United soak a revival this weekend? Erik ten Hag's side are enduring their worst start to a season since 1989-90, having lost four of their first seven Premier League games.

They host struggling Brentford at Old Trafford on Saturday, and will fancy their chances given the visitors have only won one of their seven top-flight matches this season.

Arsenal vs Manchester City

It's the big one, folks!

Treble-winning Manchester City travel to runners-up Arsenal in the final Premier League contest before the international break.

The two slugged it out for the title last season with Pep Guardiola's side eventually finishing five-points clear of their London rivals.

City completed the league double over Arsenal last season, and in fact have won eight of the last nine against them in all competitions - but is this Arsenal's time to strike?

City have struggled of late with injuries, and Rodri's suspension has further stretched Pep's already thin squad to the limit. The Spanish midfielder will again be missing from the starting XI.

Since making his debut in August 2019, City have lost five of 15 Premier League games in which Rodri hasn't featured, meaning they've lost a third of the league games they have played without their midfield stalwart.

But while City have wobbled, Arsenal have cantered. The Gunners are unbeaten in nine, winning seven of those and scoring a very healthy 20 goals in the process.

Perhaps more pleasing for Arteta and Co is Arsenal's defensive solidarity. They've managed four clean sheets in their last five outings and have only given up 16 efforts on target all season.

Manchester United vs Brentford

Manchester United really need a result this weekend. As mentioned, the Red Devils are enduring their worst start to a season since 1989-90 and have lost four of their last six matches in all competitions.

If there was any honeymoon left, it's well and truly gone for Erik ten Hag. The Dutchman needs to turn things around with the club looking pedestrian, repetitive and unimaginative in possession.

United have mustered just seven league goals this campaign, but rank fifth for most attempts on goal with a chance every 6.4 minutes with only Bournemouth and Everton having worse shot accuracy (27.5%).

So chances are being created, but not finished. And that's a problem when you're leaky at the other end of the pitch. Only six clubs have conceded more efforts on goal with United keeping just three shut outs in their last nine - conceding 2+ on five occasions.

Things aren't much better for Brentford.

The Bees have flown under the radar, and it's quite a surprise to see they've only managed one victory over Fulham this season.

Thomas Frank's side have seven points from a possible 21, and have lost three of their last five - failing to keep a single clean sheet since the middle of August.
