Arsenal vs Manchester United

There's a heavyweight showdown in north London this weekend as Arsenal and Manchester United renew hostilities at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners remain unbeaten after their opening three league fixtures, but need to bounce back from last weekend's 2-2 draw with Fulham to prove their title credentials.

Manchester United haven't exactly been convincing despite taking six points from a possible nine. The Red Devils fought back from 2-0 down to beat 10-man Nottingham Forest thanks to a late Bruno Fernandes penalty.

Brighton vs Newcastle

Brighton and Newcastle meet in what should be an entertaining contest at the Amex Stadium on Saturday evening.

Both sides are clearly on an upward trajectory, but both are looking to right the wrongs of last weekend's defeats.

Brighton, despite dominating the ball, were beaten 3-1 by a clinical West Ham on their own patch, while Newcastle suffered a dramatic 2-1 loss to 10-man Liverpool despite taking the lead through Anthony Gordon.

Arsenal vs Manchester United

Arsenal are undefeated and have taken seven points from a possible nine - but their defensive frailties are becoming a cause for concern.

The Gunners became the first team in Premier League history to concede a first-minute goal three times inside a calendar year, and conceded in the last 15 minutes of the second half against Nottingham Forest and Fulham.

Many are calling for manager Mikel Arteta to get back to basics by bringing centre-back Gabriel in from the cold to partner William Saliba, and recall Gabriel Jesus to spearhead the attack.

The Spanish tactician is expected to revert to the formation and personnel that brought so much success last season, and that could be bad news for Sunday's visitors.

Manchester United showed great resolve to beat Nottingham Forest last weekend, but again benefitted from a penalty and red card to scrape over the line.

United look weak down the middle of the pitch and questionable at the back, with neither winger providing much in the way of quality opportunities.

The Red Devils lost on their last visit the London, succumbing to a 2-0 defeat to Tottenham, and have now conceded 2+ goals in six of their last eight matches in all competitions (including pre-season friendlies).

Brighton vs Newcastle preview

Newcastle will have been bitterly disappointed not to come away with maximum points against Liverpool at St James' Park last Sunday.

The Magpies played most of the match with a man advantage, and registered 23 efforts on goal with over 60% possession.

They've now followed their 5-1 demolition of Aston Villa with successive defeats to Manchester City and Liverpool, and Eddie Howe will be eager to head into the international break with a victory.

Supporters won't be overly concerned about the team's performance, and have good memories of this fixture having won both 2-1 and 4-1 last season.

Brighton's 100% start to the campaign came to a crashing halt against West Ham. The Seagulls were again the dominant side with the ball, but were undone far too easily on the counter.

The loss paralleled Newcastle's defeat in many ways with Roberto De Zerbi's side producing 26 goal attempts in 90 minutes and still walking away with just a single goal and zero points.
