Premier League darts: Night five schedule and preview as birthday boy Wright celebrates top spot

Gary Anderson, Michael Smith, Peter Wright, Jonny Clayton, Mike van Gerwen, James Wade, Joe Cullen and Gerwyn Price are playing in the Premier League at night five. Semi-finals start at 21:10 GMT, while the final is expected to take place at 22:15 GMT.

Michael Smith lost his seventh major final in a row. He lost the UK Open final to Danny Noppert and the World Championship final. Smith plays Gary Anderson in the Premier League. It's the first meeting between the two this season.

Peter Wright is the current world champion and now world number one. He took Gerwyn Price's place at the top of the rankings at weekend. Snakebite leads the Premier League table by a point. Wright won the opening Premier league night and lost last week's final 6-0 to Michael van Gerwen.

Michael van Gerwen has slipped to fifth in the PDC Order of Merit. He is second in Premier League table after winning last week's event in Exeter. James Wade is also a player who has something to prove after recently saying he doesn't get enough exposure.

Gerwyn Price is the new world number two. He came close at the UK Open and fell at quarter-final stage. Joe Cullen has won the last three and six of the eight meetings against Price. He could come out firing against him if Price has a rankings hangover.
