Pride and progress as the world comes to town that 'had to fend for itself'

St Helens' Totally Wicked Stadium will host three games in the group stage of the men's Rugby League World Cup. The council is working to encourage people to attend games there. St Helen Borough Council has decorated the centre with World Cups branding. Ian Leahy, area manager of SJL Leisure, runs a number of pubs in St. Hels. He believes the tournament will bring an economic boost to the town. One person believes it will do little for StHelens. They are worried about the high prices. Paul Quinn, 65, is less enthusiastic. Another person thinks it won't do much for the area.
