Prost vs Senna, Mansell vs Piquet and more

Haas signed Nico Hulkenberg to race for the team in 2023. He will race alongside Kevin Magnussen. The two drivers clashed on the track and off it in 2017.

Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna had a fierce rivalry. The rivalry started in 1984 after Senni was denied a victory in Monaco Grand Prix. In 1988, Sanna won the Japanese Grand prix, but was penalised for cutting the chicane. Pro and Sarni collided at the Casio Triangle at end of the season in 1990.

Nigel Mansell and Nelson Piquet were team mates in the Williams Formula One team. Pique won the title in 1986 and 1987. The Brazilian won his third title the following year. They later reconciled and used to advertise the Brazilian-spec Ford Fusion.

Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel have a rivalry since 2009. In 2010, Webbers' new-spec front wing was handed over to Vittel. Vettel won the title that year. The following year in the 2011 British Grand Prix Webbs disobeyed team orders and passed Vuttel to win the race.

Rosberg and Hamilton's rivalry started in 2014. They have had several flashpoints, including in Bahrain, Monaco, China and Japan. Rosberg won the final three races of that season. Max Verstappen won on his debut for Red Bull in Spain. In the deciding race in Abu Dhabi, Rosburg needed P3 to seal the title. He won but couldn't change the outcome.

Gilles Villeneuve was signed by Ferrari late in the 1977 season. He was joined by Didier Pironi in 1981. Pirooni passed Villenueve on the final lap of the 1982 San Marino GP at Imola. It was Villneuve's final race and he died in Zolder in next round.

Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton have a rivalry. Alonso won the 2007 and 2008 Formula One championships. Hamilton won his first Grand Prix in Australia. In Canada, Alonso watched his young team mate take his maiden Grand prix victory. They had a heated exchange in Hungary. The rivalry escalated in Belgium after the 'Spygate' scandal.
