Punter wins £245k on £30 accumulator bet after picking seven horses at random
The 34-year-old mechanic was jumping for joy as the last gee-gee romped home and plans to buy his first house with the winnings
A lucky mechanic has won a quarter of a million pounds after betting just £30 on horse racing.
The 34-year-old is now celebrating winning £245,000 after picking seven different horses that all won their race.
The married father-of-three, who wishes to remain anonymous, picked his winners in an accumulator bet at , West Midlands, yesterday.
He picked the horses based on their names and now plans on buying his first house with the £245,000 winnings.
The anonymous winner, from Southampton, Hants, said: “I chose the horses based on their names.
“I looked at ones who were favourites and selected them at random based upon names that I liked.
“I was watching the results come in and after the first three had won, I started texting the wife.
“When the seventh had won, I was jumping around the place.
“I’ll be working this weekend and I don't plan on telling many people, else they'll all be wanting discounts!”
The mechanic spent £20 on a £10 each-way accumulator on the seven horse as well as a further £10 win accumulator on the same horses - totalling £30 in stakes.
