Rangers World Series Odds Will Get Fans Fired Up
It's official. After destroying the Houston Astros 11-4 in Game 7 of the ALCS on Monday night, the Texas Rangers are going to the World Series.
This is the Rangers' first trip to the World Series since 2011. Texas has never won a championship in the history of its franchise dating back to 1972, but that could be about to change based on the current World Series odds.
As of Tuesday morning, the Rangers have the best World Series odds of the three teams remaining in the postseason. They're the only team with minus odds (-135 at BetMGM Sportsbook), while the Philadelphia Phillies have the second-best odds and the Arizona Diamondbacks are third.
This is great news for Texas fans, and it's not surprising, either.
The Rangers will have several key advantages in the Fall Classic regardless of who they play. They'll have an extra day of rest to recover from their hard-fought ALCS and prepare for Game 1 on Friday. Texas will be able to start Jordan Montgomery on full rest in the series opener, Nathan Eovaldi in Game 2 and Max Scherzer in Game 3, which is a great way to start the series.
The Rangers will also have home-field advantage. so they'll host Games 1 and 2 at Globe Life Field and Games 6 and 7 if necessary. That's because Texas finished the regular season with more wins than the Diamondbacks (90 vs. 84) and owns the tiebreaker over the Phillies by virtue of winning their regular-season series.
Then again, do we even need home-field advantage considering that we're 8-0 on the road in the playoffs so far?
All in all, the Rangers have put themselves in a pretty good spot. The stars seem to be aligning for them to finally win it all. Now they just need to go out and get it done.
