Raptors vs. Jazz same-game parlay predictions Jan. 12: Fade Toronto to close out road stretch in Utah

The Toronto Raptors close out a Western Conference road trip with a game against the Utah Jazz.

The pregame narrative: Toronto has been competitive throughout the trip and now has a tough opponent in the Jazz at home. Fading the Raptors before they head back north seems to be the move while a Collin Sexton assists prop and John Collins rebounds prop round out the parlay.

Raptors predictions vs. Jazz

Parlay: Jazz moneyline + Sexton over 3.5 assists + Collins over 13.5 points (+275)

Jazz moneyline (-143): The Raptors have pushed their way through the toughest away stretch of the season so far and get to close it out by playing one of the better home teams in the NBA.

The Jazz are 12-5 at home this season and 8-2 over their last ten overall. They just beat the Denver Nuggets by 14 in this building on Tuesday. A hot team that loves playing at home is a really tough way to end a long road trip.

The Raptors have kept games close lately but don't have much to show for it. They've lost four of their last seven games.

That all goes without mentioning that Pascal Siakam is questionable tonight and could be ruled out for the second time in as many games. This would move this line even wider for the Jazz.

Other parlay picks

Sexton over 3.5 assists (-210): A lack of size due to Jakob Poeltl's absence has resulted in Toronto's defenders having to help more in the paint.

In the two games the Raptors' centre has been out, primary ball handlers, James Harden and LeBron James have each recorded 11-plus assists, driving the lane and dishing out to open teammates.

Of course, Sexton isn't close to the same tier as those guys but that is evident in the line set for him tonight. He doesn't need to dish out double-digit assists as only four are needed for this leg to hit.

The Jazz point guard averages 4.4 assists as a starter and has a chance to expose an injury-riddled Raptors squad.

Collins over 13.5 points (-157): Toronto has struggled to maintain centres in Poeltl's absence.

This was evident on Tuesday when we saw Anthony Davis take full advantage, scoring 41 points against the Raptors on 17 shots.

Even Ivica Zubac of the Los Angeles Clippers was able to have an efficient night scoring on six of his eight field goal attempts.

Collins has shown he can hit this number scoring 14-plus in five of his last six. The seven-year player has a good chance to top his point prop tonight, as long as the volume is there.
