Reports: 1,000 Guineas victor Mawj will head to U.S. for fall in Britain in May, will not race again in Europe this year and will instead be pointed toward a fall campaign in the U.S., according to multiple reports.

The Racing Post and Sky Sports were among the news outlets reporting Friday that the Godolphin homebred 3-year-old filly will compete stateside, beginning with the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1) on Oct. 14. The Racing Post indicated that would likely be followed by a start in the Breeders' Cup Mile on Nov. 4 at Santa Anita.

The Ireland-bred, 3-year-old daughter of the Australia sire Exceed and Excel, a half-sister to two-time Breeders' Cup champ and Eclipse Award winner Modern Games, had been under consideration for the Sun Chariot Stakes (G1) at Newmarket on Oct. 7 before Thursday's announcement.

In her most recent start, the Saeed bin Suroor-trained Mawj captured the historic 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket on May 7 at odds of 9-1, narrowly besting the previously undefeated Dermot Weld-trained filly Tahiyra, a four-time Group 1 winner.

That victory in her first in Group 1 race improved Mawj's record to 8: 5-1-1 while racing in the U.K. and Dubai and pushed her earnings past $660,00, according to Equibase.

The 1,000 Guineas, contested at a mile on the grass, was first run in  April 1814, five years after the first 2,000 Guineas.
