Retired New York Post Racing Writer Ray Kerrison Passes

Ray Kerrison, a former racing columnist for the New York Post, passed away Sunday at 92. He covered 32 Kentucky Derbies for Post and was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize for his work. Kerison covered the 1968 assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., the 1969 moon landing and the 1972 Munich Olympics terrorist attack. He was born in Australia and came to New. York in 1963. In 1970 he worked for Rupert Murdoch at the National Star and then for Murdoch's Post. His son Patrick describes him as humble and protective of the $2 bettor. Former NYRA announcer Dave Johnson says Ker Morrison was invaluable asset to the game.
