15 teams on the preseason ballot didn't make it to the final rankings. Every team from 15-23 missed the rankings, which is the same as the rest of the voters. Florida State won all three of its games by a combined 12 points.
Billy Napier's first season at Florida was successful. He finished with a 7-5 record. I predicted a win by Utah, but I missed some details. I was skeptical about USF hiring Jon Gruden and Deion Sanders. Alex Golesh was hired as the coach at USf. Clemson didn't perform as well as I had predicted. North Carolina State won the ACC.

The preseason media poll had USF finishing ninth in the AAC. USf went winless in conference play. Miami was the only state team on the ballot. The Hurricanes ended up being fourth, behind FSU, UCF and the Gators. I underestimated Josh Heupel at UCf. I wrote in 2021 that Josh will not turn around the Tennessee football team.
FSU wins the ACC for the first time since 2014.
The Gators will finish the regular season no better than 6-6.
USF will be in the college football playoffs in 2023.
UCF finishes below .500 in the Big 12 in 2023.
