Royal Rumble Odds 2024: WWE Men’s and Women’s Favorites

One of WWE’s marquee annual events takes place on Saturday, Jan. 27, at Tropicana Field in Tampa Bay, FL, as we look at the 2024 Royal Rumble odds and how to bet on the event.

As it does every year, the Road to WrestleMania gets underway with the Royal Rumble. For the 37th time, 30 wrestling superstars will try to outlast each other and be the last one standing. At stake is a main event match at WrestleMania 40 and a shot at a WWE Championship.

On the men’s side of the ring, CM Punk has already confirmed his appearance in the Rumble, as have Cody Rhodes, Shinsuke Nakamura, Kevin Owens, and Bobby Lashley. Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Nia Jax, and Bayley are confirmed for the women's division.

Read on for our look at the Royal Rumble odds for the WWE event on Jan. 27, 2024.

Royal Rumble betting analysis

The Royal Rumble odds reflect the projected winner of the main event, which features 30 wrestlers entering the ring at 90-second intervals. Not all participants have been officially announced, and as the WWE is prone to unexpected plot twists, we may never get the entire card. With that in mind, betting on this event presents unique challenges.

Books recognize the scripted nature of the sport and set the favorites accordingly. That said, there is not much value in the longer shots here unless their storyline shifts in the next few weeks. So far, CM Punk and Bayley have officially declared for the match, driving their price down. As more wrestlers join the card, expect these prices to fluctuate.

Favorites for the 2024 Royal Rumble

CM Punk (-150)

CM Punk and Seth Rollins started as the first two combatants in the 2014 Royal Rumble. Punk lasted over 45 minutes and was one of the final four wrestlers in the ring. Ultimately, he was taken out by Kane, who came back into the match after being eliminated. Punk left the WWE shortly following the event.

Now, “The Best in the World” returns to the WWE and sets his sights on picking up where he left off some ten years ago. Punk signed on the RAW roster and has already taken shots at the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth “Freakin” Rollins. A win at the Royal Rumble will catapult him to a chance at that title and an opportunity to remind Rollins who blazed the trail for his success.

Hang tight on betting Punk at his current price. This week, The Rock finally came back to the WWE. We may see the odds shift quite a bit if he enters the field, and it could put Punk in a much more favorable position, odds-wise.

Bayley (-110)

As the leader of Damage CTRL, Bayley has a master plan to put each crew member on top of the Women’s Division. That plan also includes a win by “The Role Model” at the Royal Rumble in her bid to take the Women’s World Championship title from Rhea Ripley.

Bayley and Ripley had some confrontation early last year. Ripley formed a shaky alliance with Damage CTRL during the 2022 War Games to compete against then Women’s Champion Bianca Belair and her squad.

One contradicting piece of this puzzle is that Bayley now belongs to the SmackDown brand. Currently, Damage CTRL member Iyo Sky holds the WWE Women’s Championship title that belongs to the brand. If Bayley wins, she has announced she will take on the RAW champion. That could get too messy for the WWE and may not be an easy storyline to follow through to WrestleMania.

Royal Rumble odds 2024: Contenders

The Rock (+300)

The WWE Universe started 2024 with a visit from the People’s Champion on the first RAW of the New Year. The Rock engaged in a spirited back-and-forth with former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal in which he played some of his greatest hits. He ended his 20-minute spot by announcing to the San Diego audience that he intended to sit at the “head of the table.” The jab was a not-so-subtle hint at his likely intentions to unseat current WWE Champion Roman Reigns from that position.

At this point, there has been no official declaration that The Rock will enter the Royal Rumble. However, the natural progression of his return points to a showdown with his cousin in the WrestleMania 40 main event. The most logical path to get there would be to win the Rumble.

The Rock does have one Royal Rumble victory in his storied career. In the 2000 Rumble, he was the 24th wrestler to enter the ring. Ultimately, he squared off with The Big Show and held on for the win. Grab these odds before he makes his appearance official, and this number turns south sharply.

Becky Lynch (+450)

In 2019, “The Man” became the second woman to win the Women’s Royal Rumble. Becky Lynch entered as the 28th of the 30 wrestlers, replacing Lana, who suffered an ankle injury during the preshow. Lynch found herself one-on-one with Charlotte Flair and ultimately clotheslined Flair for the win.

Currently, Lynch is in a feud with Nia Jax. The two have had some intense encounters in the past, including one that resulted in a broken nose for Lynch. More recently, Jax left Lynch a bloody mess after their meeting on RAW.

While no real storyline leads us to believe The Man will win her second Royal Rumble, she remains a fan favorite, and a Lynch title shot could ramp up the revival of her squabble with Jax. Also worth noting, Lynch notched her victory at the Rumble the last time Jax roughed her up.

Royal Rumble odds 2024: Long shots

Cody Rhodes (+500)

The arrival of CM Punk and The Rock derailed what probably should have been a path for Rhodes to win a second consecutive Royal Rumble. In last year’s Rumble, “The American Nightmare” was the last wrestler to enter the ring. He recorded five eliminations and won the match by eliminating the first wrestler in the ring, Gunther. In doing so, he earned a WrestleMania 39 title match against Roman Reigns.

Instead of a locked-in rematch between the two in WrestleMania 40, Rhodes finds himself on the wrong side of the odds. As much as he deserves his moment, both new additions have far more compelling storylines and, let’s face it, more financially impactful ones.

The only angle in which betting on Rhodes makes sense is that the WWE will want to tie up his thread at Wrestlemania so it can move on to building up the new ones created over the last few weeks.

Bianca Belair (+1600)

The former WWE Women's Champion announced this week that she intends to enter the Royal Rumble to regain her title. "The EST of WWE" has one Rumble victory on her resume. This week, she interrupted a jubilant Damage CTRL celebration to declare her entry into the upcoming Rumble.

Belair won her third championship title in a triple threat match at SummerSlam against Asuka and Charlotte Flair. Moments later, Iyo Sky cashed in her Money in the Bank contract, taking out an injured Belair for the title. Honestly, it makes more sense for Belair to win her second Rumble and exact her revenge on Sky to take back the title. This would create a cross-brand match at WrestleMania and further an ongoing storyline.

Two things could be dictating Belair’s long odds. First off, the WWE could be ready for another long-term women’s champion. The following year, Belair held the title for 419 days between WrestleMania 38 and the Night of Champions. Second, her recent entry may not have given the books time to adjust her price. Grab this number now before it heads in the wrong direction.

How to bet on the Royal Rumble

Most United States books do not offer odds on the Royal Rumble. Overseas bettors should consult their local books for the most current odds.

How do Royal Rumble odds work?

Royal Rumble odds reflect the projected winner of the 30-wrestler main event. For instance, a $10 bet on The Rock to win the Rumble at +300 will result in a $30 profit on a $40 total payout.
