The Rugby League World Cup kicks off on 15 October. The Sporting Base is previewing all 16 Rugby league World Cups. In the 11th part of the series, we look at whether a Lebanon squad coached by Michael Cheika can build off a successful 2017 campaign and qualify for back-to-back postseasons.
Lebanon made their return to international rugby league earlier this year. They beat Malta 30-14 at Belmore to take home the Elias-Fenech Shield. Cedars will kick their tournament off against New Zealand in Warrington. Adam Doueihi and Mitchell Moses are expected to play together for the first time. Several NRL players are also expected. Head coach Michael Cheika has a number of exciting backline options to choose from. Alex Twal is unavailable due to concussion. The pack will be headed by James Roumanos, Kayne Kalache, Elie El-Zakhem, Charbel Tasipale, Josh Rizk, Allan Lockwood, John Paul Nohra and Christian Yasmin.
