The Cook Islands will make their return to the Rugby League World Cup after a nine-year absence. They will play Wales in Leigh, Papua New Guinea in Warrington and Tonga in Middlesbrough. Valentine Holmes is yet to decide whether he will represent the Cook Island or Australia. The Kukis have a good depth of players. They have played against Wales, PNG and Togo in the past. Their last World cup appearance was in 2013. It was a win over Wales. In that tournament they lost to Tong and the United States. This year they will face Papua Nines and then Tongans.
