Rugby: Otago tighthead making big step up after studies
Sam Hibbard came to Christchurch in 2004 and played rugby for Christ's College. He has been playing for Otago since then. Hibard plays tighthead for the Otagans and works for Speight's in the winter months. Otacans are looking for their first win in ITM Cup. They play North Harbour in Albany tonight. The team has started the competition poorly. The scrum has not been a focus of the game. It was particularly bad in Otocans-Wellington match last Saturday. Scrum is still a contestable part of rugby. Neither team seems to be able to develop a culture of winning.
North Harbour defeated Otago by a score of 30-6.
