Saints vs. Colts NFL Player Props, Odds

On Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts welcome the New Orleans Saints to Lucas Oil Stadium, and one of our standout NFL player props for Week 8 zeroes in on New Orleans running back Alvin Kamara in the Saints vs. Colts matchup. We always shop for the best NFL odds from across our best NFL prop betting sites when making our NFL picks.

Even with New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr posting 300-plus yards in back-to-back games, the team has faced back-to-back losses for the second time this season. Carr has notably built a strong rapport with running back Alvin Kamara, a key asset to their passing game. Since returning from suspension in Week 4, Kamara has accumulated 35 receptions, including 12 or more in two games, showcasing his impact on the team's passing attack.

The Indianapolis Colts have suffered consecutive losses. In Week 7, QB Gardner Minshew threw for 305 yards and two touchdowns, with running back Jonathan Taylor contributing 75 yards and a score on the ground. Despite their efforts, the defense couldn't hold up, resulting in a 39-38 loss to the visiting Cleveland Browns.

To accompany our NFL Week 8 predictions and NFL best bets, here are our best Saints vs. Colts NFL player props for Week 8 (odds via our best NFL betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Saints vs. Colts NFL player props: Week 8

Alvin Kamara Over 5.5 receptions (+116 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Kamara has 35 catches on 39 targets in four games since his suspension ended. That’s the third-most targets on the team despite playing three fewer games than the Saints’ three leading receivers. He has caught at least seven passes in three of his four games and has twice recorded double-digit receptions.

However, you can only be comfortable taking his receptions over. Kamara’s catches have not necessarily turned into yardage. He has just 177 receiving yards this season, which averages out to 5.1 yards per reception.

While three of our best sports betting apps offer this line at 4.5, we recommend taking over 5.5 for a really good price at FanDuel. If you prefer to go with a book offering 4.5, the best price you're going to get is -120. With how Kamara is being used in this offense, if he catches five balls, he'll likely snag a sixth as well.

Gardner Minshew Under 222.5 passing yards (-110 via bet365) ⭐⭐⭐

Despite all their issues as a team, the Saints’ defense has been consistently outstanding against the pass. They’ve held three consecutive quarterbacks to 204 passing yards or fewer, allowing just 200.6 passing yards per game.

Minshew has been putting up incredible yardage totals this season, but we’re not ready to call him matchup-proof. He's tossed for 227 yards in the three games he’s started, and he's gone over 300 in his last two outings.

But with Taylor and Zack Moss in the backfield, the Colts are a run-first team. Last week, each back recorded 18 carries, while Minshew only threw the ball 23 times. He just connected on two 50-plus yard completions — and that won't happen every week.

Michael Thomas Over 48.5 receiving yards (-114 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐

All of our best sports betting sites except for FanDuel have Thomas’ total listed at 52.5 yards. We like it there, but we like it even more at 48.5, especially when you consider that the FanDuel price is better than what is being offered for four more yards at two of the other four major sportsbooks.

We have no idea how the Saints will use wideout Chris Olave after his arrest earlier this week. Even if they do use him the usual amount, we don’t know how distracted he will be, knowing that a suspension is likely imminent.

The Saints will have to produce receiving yards somewhere, and we believe Thomas will be that guy. They average just 98.1 rushing yards per game, so we don’t see them taking full advantage of a Colts’ defense allowing 118.7 on the ground. Instead, Thomas will post his sixth 50-yard game of the season against a team allowing 253.4 passing yards per game.
