Tenebrit is out of Immortal Verse, a winner of the Coronation Stakes for Robert Collet, whose own dam was out to Sadler's Wells mare. Quotes of 8-1 for the 1,000 Guineas look fair.

Perfect Power won a pair of Group 1s despite being in a bad position two furlongs out both times. Christophe Soumillon and Richard Fahey believe that a draw away from the stands' side rail in stall one was a major disadvantage.

Royal Patronage won the race at York. Coroebus lost the lead late on. Royal Patronages finished ahead of Corobus.
