Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Odds, F1 Picks & Predictions 2024: Can Anyone Stop Favorite Verstappen?

It’s Round 2 of the Formula 1 season, and these Saudi Arabian Grand Prix picks and predictions are based on the F1 odds from our best F1 betting sites.

The 2024 F1 season began where 2023 left off, with Max Verstappen hoisting yet another first-place trophy. The reigning champion crossed the finish line just over 22 seconds faster than second-place finisher and teammate Sergio Perez in Bahrain. It seems no team found an answer for Red Bull over the offseason.

With F1 now visiting Jeddah for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix for just the fourth time ever, three different drivers have taken a race in Jeddah: Lewis Hamilton, Perez, and of course, Verstappen.

The street course features several high-speed corners and three DRS zones, both of which once again favor the Red Bull drivers. The odds from our best sportsbooks reflect that, as both Verstappen and Perez sit at the top.

Here are our 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix picks and predictions based on the F1 odds for the Jeddah Corniche Circuit (odds via our best sports betting sites; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Saudi Arabian Grand Prix predictions

Favorite: Max Verstappen (-360 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Few have dominated their sport like Verstappen, especially over the last three seasons. The Dutch phenom has racked up 44 wins during that span along with 56 podium appearances across 66 races. Additionally, he's led 2,270 laps since the 2021 season, including an astounding 1,003 in 2023.

Red Bull’s top dog enters this week following a season-opening victory in Bahrain. Not only did he win that race, but he started on the pole before leading all 57 laps and clocking the fastest lap of the day. It took just over 22 seconds for second-place Sergio Perez to cross the finish line after Verstappen snatched the checkered flag.

The biggest drawback of laying this much juice on an outright winner, even Verstappen, is that anything can happen. Max has notched only one victory over three races at this track. His teammate Perez snagged the win in 2023 after Verstappen experienced problems in qualifying and started 15th.

Long shot: Carlos Sainz (+2500 via Caesars)⭐⭐⭐

Sainz was the only driver on the podium last week not wearing a Red Bull fire suit. Even with that impressive third-place run, the Spanish driver was still over 25 seconds behind second-place Perez, and almost a full minute behind Verstappen.

The Ferrari driver has logged just one podium finish here in his three tries, finishing in third place during the 2022 season. Sainz was the only driver not on Red Bull to collect a win during 2023. He's also currently auditioning for a ride in 2025, as Lewis Hamilton is set to take his spot at Ferrari.

As the odds dictate, it is tough to choose a true long-shot winner in Formula 1 races. Only three drivers won in 22 rounds last year, with Verstappen accounting for 19 of those wins. Two more went to his Perez, whose odds are still too short to call him a long shot.

Prop: VCARB double foints finish (+400 via DraftKings)⭐⭐⭐⭐

The newly renamed Visa Cash App RB F1 team consists of Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda. The two finished just 15 seconds outside of the points in 13th and 14th place in Bahrain. There was a touch of drama in that finish, as the team ordered Tsunoda to swap positions with Riccardo.

The latter took over for Nyck de Vries 11 races into the 2023 season. He competed in seven events with an average finish of 12.7, notching one result in the points. However, he did close out the campaign one position away from a top-10 run in Abu Dhabi. The Aussie also tallied a top-five result in Jeddah during 2021 while driving for McLaren.

Meanwhile, Tsunoda ran full-time for Alpha Tauri in 2023 with a 13.6-place average finish while registering six outcomes in the points. However, three of those results occurred within the last five races of the season. The Japanese driver finished one position outside of the points three times in 2023, including his 11th-place showing in Jeddah.
