Scott Servais stands by call to have Robbie Ray face Yordan Alvarez

The Mariners lost 8-7 to the Astros in Game 2 of the American League Division Series. Manager Scott Servais used Robbie Ray to face Yordan Alvarez. Ray was bullied by the Blue Jays in Toronto three days earlier. George Kirby will start Game 3 on Saturday.  

Robbie Ray will start for Seattle against Yordan Alvarez in Game 3 of the World Series. Ray's two-seam fastball is elite and shaky. The other relief options were Erik Swanson, Matthew Boyd and Kirby. The Mariners intended to use Kirby only for one clean inning. It's the first postseason game in Seattle in 21 years. They play Game 4 on Sunday. Seattle won the previous game. Alex Bregman is on deck. He hit a homer off Andrés Muñoz one inning earlier. Felix Hernandez will be the closer. His first save came on Saturday in Toronto. he will probably start Game III.
