Five golfers to date have won the Players and then a major in the same season – the most recent being Cameron Smith, who won the Players and went onto land the Open.

12 months ago, Scheffler won the green jacket posting a score of -10, this score would have won 7 of the last 11 Masters.

Therefore, if he can get near that score again will surely have a chance of presenting the famous green jacket to himself on Sunday. He’s disputing the Masters favourites berth with last year’s runner-up Rory McIlroy.

The 2023 Masters golf, which is the first of the four majors, gets going on Thursday April 6th and runs over four days – with the final round on Sunday April 9th.
