Senegal World Cup 2022 squad guide: Full fixtures, group, ones to watch, odds and more

Sadio Mane is out of the World Cup in Qatar. Senegal won the Africa Cup of Nations. Aliou Cisse is disappointed about the loss of his star player. Cissen has led Senegal to their greatest triumph. Senegal are champions and stronger now following their group stage exit in Russia four years ago. They have also received a kind group. There was a straight shootout between Senegal and Ecuador for second place. The Africans triumphed on the final matchday of their Group. A win would be a special end to 2022. It would also be Senegal's last World cup. Ghana in 2010 was one African side to make a lasting impact on a World tournament this century.

Senegal play Netherlands on Monday 21 November and Qatar on Friday 25 November. Ecuador play Senegal on Tuesday 29 November, and they play Qatar.

The winners of Group B will play Senegal in the round of 16 on Sunday 4 December.

Edouard Mendy, Seny Dieng, Alfred Gomis, Youssouf Sabaly, Kalidou Koulibaly and Pape Abou Cisse are the players confirmed for the squad. Idrissa Gueye, Cheikhou Kouyate, Nampalys Mendo, P Cape Guesden, Ismail Sarr, Moustapha Name, Mamadou Loum, Boulaye Dia, Famara Diedhiou, Nicolas Jackson, Iliman Ndiaye are also included.

Senegal have one of the oldest squads and starting line-ups in Qatar. Boulaye Dia scored in the Champions League semi-finals for Villarreal last season. Dia has three goals for Senegal but will likely lead the line for the Lions.

Senegal play the Netherlands in their opening match of the Africa Cup of Nations. They need to win the game to avoid England in the last 16. If they lose to the Dutch in that game, they could be eliminated.
