The top two in Serie A do battle on Sunday night with league leaders Inter travelling to face Juventus at the Allianz Stadium.

The Nerazzurri have been the clear best side in Italy so far this season, largely thanks to the form of strikers Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram. The duo have scored 19 times between them so far in all competitions.

They are two points better off than La Vecchia Signora coming into this one, with Massimiliano Allegri's side playing a far from entertaining but certainly effective brand of football. Inter have only conceded six Serie A goals while Juventus have shipped seven - the next best defence is Bologna with ten strikes let in.

Ahead of what could be a real war of attrition in Turin, here's what you need to know about Sunday night's Derby d'Italia.

There are a number of Juve players trying to get fit in time to play a role against Inter. Brazilian defender Alex Sandro looks to have shaken off a muscle problem and should take a place on the bench, while Weston McKennie and Fabio Miretti are working to recover and expected to start.

Timothy Weah has suffered an injury and will miss the rest of the month, while Manuel Locatelli needs to be assessed in the lead-up to the game. Mattia De Sciglio and Danilo remain out injured, while Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli are unavailable.

Juventus predicted lineup vs Inter (3-5-2):Szczesny; Gatti, Bremer, Rugani; Cambiaso, McKennie, Rabiot, Miretti, Kostic; Chiesa, Kean.

The major fresh absentee for Inter ahead of the Derby d'Italia is Alessandro Bastoni, with the Italian centre-back facing a short spell on the sidelines. Simone Inzaghi is expected to use the experienced trio of Matteo Darmian, Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi at the back, as Benjamin Pavard is also out injured.

Juan Cuadrado will be evaluated to see if he can play against his old team, but plenty of options remain on the bench for Inzaghi with Alexis Sanchez and Marko Arnautovic now fit.

Inter predicted lineup vs Juventus (3-5-2):Sommer; Darmian, De Vrij, Acerbi; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Martinez.

When you consider how few goals these two teams have conceded so far this season, it is very hard to picture anything other than a tense affair in which neither outfit wants to fall behind.

Inter have scored ten goals more than Juventus in Serie A and are in better health right now in terms of player availability, so the onus is on them to do the attacking even if they are the away team.

With the form Lautaro Martinez is showing, it's hard to bet against him scoring a potentially decisive goal to give Inter a lead they may not relinquish.
