Team news

Sevilla will be without key defender Marcos Acuna. The defender picked up a red card in the semi-final second leg win against Juventus.

In his absence, Manchester United loanee Alex Telles looks set to start from the off.

Marcao and Tanguy Nianzou are fit to return to the side. However, the pair may have to settle for a place on the bench this evening.

After scoring in the semi-final second-leg, both Suso and Erik Lamela will be itching to start from the off this evening.

As for Roma, Chris Smalling is in contention to feature from the off after recovering from a hip injury.

Marash Kumbulla and Rick Karsdorp will play not part in the game due to injury.

Dybala will be hoping to play in some capacity. The forward has been dealing with an ankle injury in recent weeks.

Predicted Sevilla XI (4-2-3-1): Bounou; Navas, Bade, Gudelj, Telles; Fernando, Rakitic; Ocampos, Torres, Gil; En-Nesyri

Predicted Roma XI (3-4-2-1): Patricio; Mancini, Smalling, Ibanez; Celik, Cristante, Matic, Spinazzola; Dybala, Pellegrini; Abraham

What's been said?

Heading into the match, Mendilibar was asked to give his thoughts on the final.

'One side will win but both teams deserve to be in the final, and I hope the scales will tilt in our favour,' Mendilibar said at his pre-match press conference.

I don't know what could be a more important match than this one, it's my first time, but in these moments predictions and what people say doesn't matter. It's about being accurate and making as little errors as possible.'

The head coach also gave his thoughts on what his team can expect from the Italian side.

'Roma are a strong defensive side, who don't need many chances to score and win.

'We have centred our attention on getting to their box and they feel comfortable defending their area, and then if they have to put pressure on us, they will do, and with pace. It's a difficult team to play against, but we have to be relaxed when playing.'

As for Roma, Mourinho was asked to give his thoughts on his record in finals heading into the clash with Sevilla.

'History doesn't win matches at all. You look at Real Madrid's finals and you think Real Madrid wins every final. You look at Sevilla and you say Sevilla wins every final. But the reality is that history doesn't win matches,' Mourinho said at his pre-match conference.

'Superstition is something that I don't like, so I don't look at superstition even as a factor.

'It's a new final. It's new history. They have experience of being there. We have experience because we were [in a European final] very recently, we were [there] last season. So no problems, I just want to play the game.'

Prediction

This is certainly an even match between two top teams in Europe. While Sevilla have endured a tough season by their standards, their European form is second to none.

If En-Nesyri is causing Roma's defence a lot of problems from the off, it should be enough to get the job done.

As for Roma, Mourinho's record in cup finals is impressive. The Portuguese manager always has unique tactics up his sleeve to win the game.

Should Tammy Abraham and Dybala be involved in Roma's play from the get-go, the Italian side could go on to secure back-to-back European titles.
