Mackenzie Blackwood posted a 32-save shutout in Tuesday’s 2-0 win over the Kraken. Blackwood has won his last three outings, and Tuesday’s effort was arguably his best of the campaign. The Kraken controlled the pace for the first two periods, but the third tilted just in the Sharks’ favor. Blackwood improved to 8-17-3 on the year with a 3.51 GAA and an .899 save percentage through 32 contests. This was his first shutout since the 2021-22 campaign. The 27-year-old will likely be on the bench Wednesday, allowing Kaapo Kahkonen to start versus the Ducks.

Frank Vatrano notched an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Saturday’s 3-2 win over the Wild. Vatrano set up a Troy Terry tally in the first period. They were united on a new-look second line centered by Benoit-Olivier Groulx, though it’s unclear how long that combination might last. The 29-year-old Vatrano has now gone seven games without a goal, picking up four assists in that span. Despite the slump, he’s still shooting 13.5 percent this season, a fairly lofty mark compared to his career rate of 10.6 percent. Vatrano is at 35 points, 155 shots on net, 77 hits, 53 blocked shots, 55 PIM and a minus-15 rating through 49 contests.

Take the over. The total has gone over in six out of the Sharks’ last seven games against the Ducks, which includes cashing four times in the previous five meetings between these two teams. On the other side, the over is 5-1 in the Ducks’ last six games played on a Wednesday.
