Shishkin ruled out of Tingle Creek comeback

Shishkin will skip the Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown next week in favour of the Ladbrokes Desert Orchid Chase on December 27. Nicky Henderson's stable star is not quite ready for the Grade 1 race. Shishk won the 2020 Supreme Novices' Hurdle and the Arkle in the spring under regular rider Nico de Boinville. Henderson feels a pre-season breathing operation and dry weather in Lambourn are contributing factors. He retired Altior in September. He had a wind op over the summer and that set him back four weeks. The horse is fit enough but Henderson doesn't feel he's sparking enough.
