Simon Middleton admits only World Cup glory will do
Simon Middleton has named his 32-strong World Cup squad for New Zealand. Sarah Hunter will captain England for a third successive World cup. Scrum-half Mo Hunt is the only player to be left out of the squad. Abby Dow is included despite being sidelined since breaking her leg in April. Emily Scarratt will play in the tournament for the fourth time. England have won 25 consecutive matches. They are strong favourites to win the World Championship. Middleon believes they need to do well to retain the title. He is confident they have the right squad, but admits they won't win it. The coach compares it to Wimbledon beating Liverpool in tennis and Anthony Joshua beating Anthony Anthony in football.
