Sky Bet EFL Manager and Player of the Month: September winners

Paul Heckingbottom has been named Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month for September. Sheffield United won all three of their games away from home in September without conceding a goal. Heckerbottom's team is currently top of Championship.

Paul Heckingbottom has won the September Manager and Player of the Month awards. Sheffield United won all three games during September and topped the Championship table after 10 games. Sky Sports’ EFL pundit Don Goodman said it's back-to-back awards for Heckerbottom.

Steven Schumacher has been named the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month for September. Plymouth Argyle collected 10 points from four difficult-looking games. Schumsacher's team came from behind twice to win the games against Derby and Ipswich. He has led Plymouth to 28 wins from 38 league games since taking over from Ryan Lowe last December. His team currently sit top of League one with 28 points. Danny Wilson chairs the judging panel. Sky Sports’ EFL pundit Don Goodman said that Plymouth were up against it multiple times in September, but still managed to come away with 10. points and that”s testament to the way Steven Schomsacher plays his team.

Richie Wellens has been named the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month for September. Leyton Orient won 12 points from four games in September without conceding a goal. Wellen's team are top of League 2. They are odds-on to earn promotion to League One. They were 16/1 to win League2 at the start of August. Now they are 4/5. The team is second in the table with the best defensive record and the second best goals for tally. It's the team's best start in League history.

Carlton Morris has been named Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for September. Luton Town striker Morris scored four goals in four games. Manager Nathan Jones is delighted with Morris. Sky Sports’ EFL pundit Don Goodman said September was the month Morris announced himself fully to the Linton Town fans. Ivor Davies said Morris added a further four more goals to his tally in five games during September and it was a good month for Lutens. Morris is grateful for the award. He also praises his team-mates. The award is more of a team award than anything. It is about doing the right things and getting the basics right.

Morgan Whittaker has been named the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month for September. Whitaker scored three goals in four games for Plymouth Argyle. He started the comeback at Derby, scored the winner against Oxford and provided an assist at Portsmouth. The highlight of his month was the goal against promotion rivals Ipswich. He is still an unlikely winner of League one Golden Boot award at 100/1.

Andy Cook has been named the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month for September. He scored five goals in four games, including three headers. Bradford won three and drew one of their four league games. Mark Hughes believes Cook's form is well deserved. Don Goodman reckons Bradford are flying high. Ivor Davies reckon they are slowly coming good under Hughes. Don Gorman reckens they may be right in the hunt at the end of season. The Bantams won 3-2 and draw 1-1 in their last four matches. They have won both home and away games this month. Andy Cook says it's an honour to take the award.
