SMCA is on the way
The cricket season starts in a matter of days. Sale-Maffra Cricket Association has a double-dose in store for season 2022/23. The season will start with three one-day games before moving into the longer format. The return of two-days cricket means the return to real cricket. It will also see the revival of the tradition of afternoon tea. SMCA is on the way. They will play three games straight after Christmas. There is a possibility that the matches could be called off due to rain.
SMCA is about to start a new season. Collegians, Warriors, Boisdale-Briagolong and Stratford are the teams to watch. The SMCA players spent the winter in England. Coenie Nel is back for the Swans. Stratfords have won seven A Grade flags since 2000. Boisdale Briaglong have made an interesting case study in recent seasons. They have been inconsistent in their performances. Last season Liam Hurst came in with the side 5/29 against Maffra. He played well. The Redbacks have also won 7 A grade flags.
