‘Someone to Talk To’: Hours Away From $450,000 Glory, LPGA Star Cheyenne Knight Credits Her NFL QB Beau for Instilling Motivation

With another round of golf to be played in Los Angeles, Cheyenne Knight looks to win her first LPGA event since 2019. While it may be difficult to outshine her fellow golfers in the final round of the JM Eagle LA Championship, Knight has the support of her Quarterback boyfriend, who she claims has been getting familiar with the enticing environment of the 18-hole sport.

A year after turning pro in 2018, Cheyenne won her first professional tournament at the Volunteers of America Classic. However, despite being surrounded by hype, the LPGA star has failed to win another event. But the win drought may soon come to an end for Knight at the Wilshire Country Club, as she has the backing from her biggest supporter.

Cheyenne Knight’s lucky charm

Knight took the lead at the ongoing JM Eagle LA Championship after the end of the third round. She shot an impressive four under par and recorded no bogeys in the penultimate round. After reaching the top of the leaderboard, Cheyenne was asked various questions regarding her stunning round in the press conference. However, one reporter asked the golfer whether her quarterback boyfriend, Easton Stick, has been keeping up with her this weekend.

Oh, yeah, it’s great, just to have his support”, replied Cheyenne Knight. Stick was drafted by Los Angeles Chargers back in 2019. Being from the sports field, Knight elaborated on how her beau understands her sporting mentality. She said, “He gets it. He plays a sport, so just having the mentality and just having someone to talk to about it”.

Cheyyene also disclosed how Easton Stick has been following her recent LPGA events since he isn’t occupied with his NFL season. He first appeared at the Drive On Championship alongside Knight in Arizona. The golfer also claims to love watching her boyfriend during his work. “I love to watch him play”, said the 26-year-old.

In the end, Knight gives Stick credit for motivating her. She said, “All the work that he puts in motivates me, so it’s nice to have him here”. While Easton Stick has yet to start for the Los Angeles franchise, he has managed to become a backup quarterback for the Chargers. As the new couple looks to blossom their relationship further, they might enjoy Knight’s first win in four years. But can the LPGA maintain the lead in Los Angeles?

A shot at glory for Cheyenne Knight

With no victory since 2019, it is quite apparent Cheyenne wasn’t among the favorites to win the $450,000 prize money at the JM Eagle LA Championship. The betting odds placed Knight as an underdog at +8000. Nonetheless, with another 18 holes to compete, the LPGA star is set to defy the odds.

She started the tournament with a 68 score and continued her hot form with another 69 score in the second round. Her 4-under-par in the penultimate round gave her the lead for the first time at the Wilshire Country Club. She leads the LPGA event with two strokes against the Australian Hannah Green and South Korean Ryu Hae-ran.

As Cheyenne Knight looks to claim her first triumph since 2019, she will require another impressive round at the Wilshire Country Club. But deeming her previous three rounds in Los Angeles, it won’t be much of a challenge for Knight to imitate it.
