Julian Fleming returned to the lineup last week and caught two touchdown passes. The group also has veterans Jayden Ballard and Xavier Johnson.
The Ohio State offense is solid, but there are no glaring weaknesses. Wisconsin will probably be able to keep some portion of the OSU offense in check. The team's quarterback is great, the wideouts are great and deep, and the running back room is as good as ever.
Jim Knowles has overhauled the Ohio State defense since taking over last year. The team is now playing a 4-2-5 scheme with an emphasis on safeties. Knowes also gives more opportunities to the defensive line and linebackers. The previous defensive philosophy was to keep everything in front of you and collapse in to make plays.
The Buckeyes defense has been an improvement over the last two seasons. The biggest concern for Knowles is the lack of depth in the cornerback room. There are only six scholarship corners on the team. If an offense can get one-on-one matchups with the corners, it can be a recipe for success. The coaching staff continues to reiterate their faith in Denzel Burke.
The game between Ohio State and Wisconsin is going to be a physical one. Jim Leonhard will try to confuse Stroud and limit his ability to get the ball to his playmakers. The Buckeyes had something similar to that in their opener against Notre Dame. The game will be played on Saturday. It will take place in Madison. There are many different weapons on the offense.
