Tizamagician hasn't won a race since the G3 Cougar II at Del Mar in 2021. Richard Mandella's horses haven't been winning since then. Bob Baffert's Defunded is in good form and he's being kept at the track for the Native Diver. Baddert is also giving Azul Coast a chance to defend his title in the race. Azula Coast hasn’t won since winning last year”s race at this meet. Newgrange is a former B Affert trainee. NewGrange won back-to-back races on Friday afternoon. He's now in training with Philip D‘Amato.

Del Mar offers training on the Jimmy Durante Turf Course during the fall meet. Last Sunday trainer Phil D'Amato had 17 horses working on it. The training session lasts from 30-35 minutes. D’Amatos won the trainers” title at last year‘s Bing Crosby meet and he has eleven wins in 28 starts this fall. The turf course will be open for the last time this season on Sunday morning. Del Mar Thoroughbred Club has joined with other Th thoroughbred associations to form the California Horse Power Coalition. The coalition is dedicated to promoting the benefits of the equine industry in California. It is estimated that the industry contributes over $8.3 million to the state's economy annually and $1.7 billion to tourism.

Tomorrow at Del Mar, there will be Free & Fun Sundays. The event is only for members of the track's Diamond Club. They get free admission and a program, a free seat and discounts on food and beverages.

Flavien Prat won four races on Friday. He is now only three wins behind Juan Hernandez in the jockey standings. Lava Man is being celebrated in Kentucky today. Old Friends is hosting an open house for fans to meet L lava Man.
