Sunderland vs. Fulham Odds, Predictions & Betting Tips

Fulham travel to Sunderland in an FA Cup fourth round replay on Wednesday evening that can be seen live on BBC1. We’ve picked out two bets for the game which we think represent good value.

Tom Cairney produced a stunning strike to level things up when these two sides met in the fourth round after Sunderland had been ahead for most of the game thanks to a Jack Clarke goal.

Tony Mowbray’s Sunderland are ninth in the Championship and are looking to reach the fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time since 2014.

The winners of this game will have a home tie against Leeds in the final 16 of the competition and taking a look at the odds ‘to qualify’ and Sunderland can be backed at 2/1, while 4/11 is on offer for Marco Silva’s side to progress.

Sunderland vs Fulham Tips

The first of our picks on Wednesday is for Fulham to win the game in 90 minutes, which at the time of writing is best priced with Betfred. It’s been a fantastic season for the Cottagers so far, currently sitting eight in the Premier League on 32 points.

Marco Silva looks a much more well-rounded top-flight manager this time round and has built himself an excellent squad, bringing in Sasa Lukic from Torino and Cedric Soares in the January transfer window.

Fulham’s most recent performance was a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge last Friday, where they put in a superb performance and could well have taken all three points. Marco Silva made seven changes when his side faced Sunderland ten days ago and is expected to name a stronger line up this time round. With that in mind, we feel the visitors should have more than enough quality to get the win here and avoid going to extra-time and penalties.

Layvin Kurzawa to be carded

We’ve also picked out a player to be carded at The Stadium of Light in the form of Fulham’s Layvin. The former Paris Saint-Germain was a bit of a card-magnet during his time in France collecting six yellow cards across 18 appearances in the Champions League and Ligue 1 in 2019/2020 season.

The left-back then followed that up in 2020/2021 with six yellows and one red in the league and in Europe, averaging 2.4 fouls per game in the Champions League. Kurzawa has been booked in both of his last two starts for Fulham, including against Sunderland in the FA Cup. All things considered, 6/1 looks a little too big here.
