Suns vs. Clippers same-game parlay predictions Jan. 8: Take L.A. to cover an alt spread vs. Phoenix

The Los Angeles Clippers look to avoid back-to-back losses when the Phoenix Suns visit on Monday.

The pregame narrative: The Clippers have been hot lately despite losing to the Lakers last night. Look for them to bounce back against the Suns. Also, fade Paul George in a tough matchup while taking an under on an alt total to round out a +270 ticket.

Suns vs. Clippers same-game parlay

Parlay: Clippers -3.5 + George under 32.5 pts/reb/ast + Under 233.5 points (+270)

Clippers -3.5 (-190): With Kevin Durant's status up in the air, it's a good time to get in on the Clippers.

The original plan of limiting Durant's minutes in Phoenix's game last night got kicked to the curb when the Suns were trailing late in the fourth. He ended up playing 37 minutes.

With reoccurring health issues, the game-time decision for rest may soon change to out with there being no need to risk the former MVP's health.

On the other side, L.A. has been great lately. The Clippers have only lost three games since the beginning of December and even if Durant plays, the Suns are a mediocre 2-3 with their three stars in the lineup.

Los Angeles' injury report is empty and as long as it remains so, it has a good chance to cover an alt spread against the Suns tonight.

Other parlay picks

George under 33.5 pts/reb/ast (-190): This is an awful matchup for opposing threes and that includes George.

Phoenix holds small forwards to the fewest rebounds (6.6) and assists (3.1) per game while limiting them to the second least points (18.7), according to Fantasy Pros.

Another stat to note is that PG has only covered this line in one of his past eight games. Everything is leading to this being a strong play.

Under 233.5 points (-159): The way these two teams have been trending, hitting the under on an alt total is a good way to close out the parlay.

The under in Clippers' games is 12-5-1 when they play at home and the Suns have stayed under in eight of their 14 road games. To add, when L.A. is a favourite, its O/U record is 8-19-1, according to Team Rankings.

A defensively sound game is expected in this one.
