Suns vs. Warriors same-game parlay predictions Oct. 24: Bet on Durant, Wiggins on opening night

A pair of Western Conference titans open their seasons on Tuesday as the Phoenix Suns face the Golden State Warriors.

The pregame narrative: Between the newcomers and the incumbents, there are plenty of stars on both sides in this matchup of Finals-hopeful teams. We expect the star power to translate to a bevy of points, and we're specifically backing Kevin Durant and Andrew Wiggins.

NBA oddsas of 2:30 p.m. on 10/22/2023.

Suns vs. Warriors same-game parlay

Parlay: Over 226.5 points + Durant over 4.5 assists + Wiggins over 1.5 threes (+285)

Over 226.5 points (-215): Golden State was the fastest team in the NBA last season, logging 102.5 possessions per game, according to NBA.com. And when the Warriors faced the Suns, Phoenix was willing to match that energy.

All four matchups between these teams in 2022-23 soared past this point total. The lowest total of those games, in fact, was 235 points.

Keep in mind that Kevin Durant didn't play any of those games for the Suns, and obviously, Bradley Beal wasn't in town yet.

This is a total the Warriors cleared in 66 of their 95 games last year (playoffs and regular season included), and we're confident the Suns can contribute to a high-scoring track meet.

Other parlay picks

Durant over 4.5 assists (-143): We saw a more pass-happy Durant as his season in Phoenix wore on last year.

During the regular season, Durant averaged just 3.5 assists per game and fell below this line in six of eight games. In the playoffs, though, he took his facilitating skills to new heights.

Durant accrued five or more assists in eight of 11 playoff games, averaging 5.5 assists per game in that span. Phoenix will count on him to score 20-plus points on a nightly basis, but he'll be handling the ball enough to clear a line like this fairly often, too.

Wiggins over 1.5 threes (-148): This is right on the borderline for being too juiced as a straight bet, but it fits nicely into this parlay. We expect a fast pace and lots of scoring, which should allow Wiggins to can a couple of threes in the process.

The Toronto native has averaged 2.0 threes per game or better in each of the past four seasons

Since 2021-22, Wiggins has gone over 1.5 threes in six of nine games against the Suns. Maybe the departure of Jordan Poole will free up more three-point opportunities for guys like Wiggins.
