Super Screener: Opportunity in Sunshine Millions female turf

An interesting pace dynamic in the Sunshine Millions Filly & Mare Turf has Mike Shutty thinking a score awaits in race 9 on Saturday at Gulfstream Park.

"The pace projects to be fast but the pace pressure modest," Shutty says of the one-mile turf tilt. "At this distance on the Gulfstream turf course, there's a short run to the first turn, so horses drawn to the outside are challenged, as are deep closers (in general).

"Our top win pick is projected to go off at double-digit odds. Form-cycle analysis is projecting a significant move forward here. She is repeating a prep pattern that has led to prior success. Her muddied up form only adds value."

Calling the Sunshine Millions Filly & Mare Turf a "strong risk/reward value proposition," Shutty suggests a prime win bet in this race, which is also the middle leg of the races 8-10 Pick 3 with wagering strategy included as part of Saturday's Super Screener.

The other races covered in depth with analysis and wagering strategy are the Pasco, Wayward Lass, and Gasparilla Stakes at Tampa Bay, the Sunshine Sprint Stakes at Gulfstream, and the Fifth Season Stakes at Oaklawn.
