Super Screener Saudi Cup analysis: Find the key to value

Fans who were excited to bet Derma Sotogake in either the Kentucky Derby or Breeders' Cup Classic (or even both) won't want to give up on the UAE Derby winner just yet, as Mike Shutty's Super Screener has identified the Japan-based globetrotter as a key play in the $20 million Saudi Cup on Saturday at King Abdulaziz Racecourse in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Derma Sotograke was not a factor in the Kentucky Derby but was a valiant runner-up to White Abarrio in the Breeders' Cup Classic. Shutty thinks the price will be right (6-1 versus 3-1 on the morning line) to bet on Derma Sotogake turning the tables on America's top handicap horse.

"This field is just loaded with speed featuring numerous pace and presser types, which is resulting in a projected pace of five points faster than part with a ton of pace pressure," Shutty says of the 1 1/8-mile dirt race. "The Super Screener landed on no. 4 Derma Sotogake as the top win and top value play in this field. His post 13 draw is unfavorable, but Emblem Road upset this field two years ago with a wide trip. A similar torrid pace is expected here, which helps Derma Sotograke's chances."

The Saudi Cup is one of seven races from four different tracks covered in this week's Super Screener, which also includes the late pick 4 at Oaklawn Park featuring the Rebel Stakes-a Kentucky Derby points race worth 50 points to the winner.

Each race in Super Screener includes written analysis with top win contenders, most reliable board hitter, top value, top long shots and other horses to use designations along with wagering strategy and a summary of pace plus the opportunity each race offers for a score.
