TCU: Why they can win College Football Playoff national title
The Big 12 championship games are set for 2022. The No. 4 TCU Horned Frogs will play the No 12 Kansas State Wildcats on Saturday in Arlington, Texas. TCU was voted to finish seventh in the conference but is now competing for the trophy.
TCU football had one of the toughest schedules in the nation. They won 12-0 and five of those games were against ranked teams. The CFP committee takes into consideration the strength of schedule. TCU has had enough chances to learn and develop before the CFA.
Kendre Miller is a key player for TCU's offense. He is one of the best running backs in the nation. TCU could face Georgia and Michigan in CFP. Georgia allows only 79.5 rushing yards per game and four touchdowns. Michigan allows 84.8 yards and six scores per contest. Miller could be the difference between the teams in this category.
Max Duggan is the quarterback of TCU's top-ranked offense. He has been playing well all season despite starting the season as a backup. Duggans is considered one of the main candidates for the Heisman Trophy. He is second-highest odds of winning the trophy at +2000, behind USC’s Caleb Williams. The Horned Frogs produce 473.3 yards of offense per game.
