Tennessee Stakes Claim as Title Contender
Tennessee beat LSU 40-13 on Saturday. The defense held LSU to 55 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Quarterback Hendon Hooker threw for 239 yards and 2 touchdowns, while running back Jabari Small added 127 yards on the ground. It was the worst home defeat for LSU coach Brian Kelly. Next week, Alabama visits Knoxville.
TCU is undefeated and playing in the Big 12. They beat Kansas 38-31 in Lawrence, Kansas. Quarterback Max Duggan threw for 308 yards and three touchdowns. Wide receiver Quentin Johnston had 14 catches for 206 yards. Next week they play Oklahoma State.
Alabama narrowly avoided a home upset at the hands of Texas A&M. Bryce Young missed the game with a shoulder injury. Tennessee is the current National Championship favorite.
