Thai cave rescue: South African diver plays his part in saving trapped boys

The world watched in hope as 12 boys and their soccer coach were rescued from the Thai cave this week. The twelfth and final boy was extracted from a cold, dark hole and taken to safety.

Leandro Nicolas Gerardo was born in Argentina but grew up in South Africa. He attended Pinetown High School in KZN as a boy. Leandro offered his services to the rescue teams in Chiang Rai.

Leandro helped in the Thai cave rescue. He and his team transported oxygen and medical equipment to the trapped boys. Dwayne Saunders shared a post to Instagram about his pride for his friend.
