The Australian Open gets back to tennis
Novak Djokovic is favourite to win his record tenth Australian Open. World No. 1 Iga Swiatek is the winner of the 2022 French Open and U.S. Open, and is favoured to launch her 2023 Grand Slam season with a victory.
Swiatek is the favourite to win the Australian Open. She won the last year's U.S. Open in straight sets.
Sabalenka is aiming to win her third Grand Slam singles title. Pegula is yet to make it past the quarterfinals in a Grand slam event. Garcia is motivated to show her 2022 WTA Finals singles championship was no fluke.
Djokovic is the favourite to win the tournament. He was forced to withdraw in the first set due to hamstring tightness.
The Australian Open starts in Melbourne. Daniil Medvedev is the favourite to win the tournament. Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal are the other favourites. Nick Kyrgios has to play past Holger Rune and Andrey Rublev. The match between Kyrgs and Djoka is expected to be the most watched match of the men's draw. The tournament starts on January 15th. It will be broadcast live on Channel 5.
