The Cannon Staff predicts the 2022-23 NHL season
The NHL season officially started over the weekend with a pair of games in Prague between Nashville Predators and San Jose Sharks. The primetime debut will be tomorrow night with an ESPN double-header featuring the Tampa Bay Lightning at New York Rangers and Vegas Golden Knights at the Los Angeles Kings.
The Carolina Hurricanes are the consensus pick. Columbus Blue Jackets fall between fifth and seventh. Four of five of the Cannon Staff have the Jackets exceeding an over/under of 80.5 points. MrSwift is the dissenter.
Josh predicts the 2022-23 NHL season. Toronto and Florida are going to be the favourites. Ottawa and Toronto are expected to finish fifth and sixth respectively.
Colorado is the second unanimous division champ in the NHL Central. Arizona and Chicago are the most interesting teams to watch.
The Pacific Division features a two-team race at the top. I'm the lowest on Vegas. Seattle was picked as high as third last year, but they're stuck in sixth or seventh now.
