The final Arlington 'Million,' one for the ages in France top weekend horse racing

Two Emmys wins Saturday's Grade I Mr. D. Stakes at Arlington Park. Got Stormy earned a Breeders' Cup berth at Saratoga and in Deauville in France, Palace Pier confirmed his status atop the world's best milers and also won a spot in the Breeder's Cup.

Two Emmys won the Mr. D Stakes at Arlington Park. Point Me By won Saturday's $300,000 Bruce D. Stake. The race was renamed in honor of Richard L.D. The 99-year-old World War II veteran was not able to attend. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were on hand to pass out trophies. They hope to try the Arlington Million next year. It's the last edition of the $600,00 Mr.-D Staking. Tango Tangoma finished second, while Ginsburned came in third.

Santa Barbara won the Arlington Million at the expense of Mean Mary. Got Stormy won at Saratoga by 1 1/2 lengths. Neige Blanch won a $109,500 CTT and TOC Stakes at Del Mar. The favorite, Tapwater, finished third. The winner will be able to race in the FanDuel Breeders' Cup Mile in November. It's the second win from four starts this year for GotStormy. She finished fifth in last year's Breeder's Cup Turf Sprint at Keeneland. Her trainer, Mark Casse, will consult with the owners to plot a race or two before November at Delaware.

Star Devine won the $120,000 Galway Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Saratoga. Gretzky the Great won a three-way dash to the wire in Saturday's $150,00 Greenwood Stake for three year olds. Introduced rallied from midfield to win Saturday’s $102,500 Incredible Revenge Staks for filly and mare at Monmouth Park.

Olympic Runner won the King Edward Stakes at Woodbine in a course-record time of 1:31.73. Pitcher Rider won Solana Beach Stake at Del Mar in 1 minute 34.21 with Flavien Prat riding for trainer Mike Puype.

Super Stock won the Runhappy Ellis Park Derby. There Goes Harvard came second and Sermononthemount third. Super Stock is trained by Steve Asmussen for his father and Erv Woolsey.

Matera won Sunday's $125,000 Groupie Doll Stakes at Ellis Park by a neck. Lady Kate was the early leader. High Regard was third.

Caribbean Caper won the $100,000 Runhappy Audubon Oaks at Ellis Park by 1 length. Minute Waltz finished third.

Real Talk won the $100,000 Jersey Shore Stakes for 3-year-olds at Monmouth Park. Mighty Mischief finished second, 1 length ahead of Moonlite Strike.

High Oak won the Grade II Saratoga Special at odds of 10-1. Roger McQueen won Sunday's $125,000 Runhappy Ellis Park Juvenile. Thedayofthegray won Saturday's Best of Ohio Cleveland Kindergarten Stakes at Thistledown. The final Arlington Million was held in France. It was the biggest race in the history of horse racing in that country.

Verylittlecents won the $125,000 Runhappy Ellis Park Debutante Stakes. One Step Ahead won Saturday's $100,00 Prairie Gold Lassie at Prairie Meadows. Pacific Coast won $ 100, 000 Miss Ohio Stake at Thistledown.

Palace Pier won the Prix du Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard Jacques le Marois at Deauville on Sunday. The Kingman colt has nine wins from 10 starts, the last three in Group 1 company. Jockey Frankie Dettori called Palace Pier the best miler he's ridden.

The final Arlington Million took place in France.

Another Mystery won the Black Tie Affair Stakes for Illinois-breds. Bramble Queen won Mike Spellman Memorial for state- bred fillies and mares. Richieinthehouse won Addison Cammack Memorial. Get None won Isaac Murphy Stake for Illinois breds by 5 lengths. The winner was Getnone, a 5-year-old Biondetti mare.

Jungle Cry won the Robert Dupret Derby by 2 1/2 lengths. Code Duello was second, 2.1/4 lengths better than Shore Break.

Well Defined won the Benny the Bull Stakes at Gulfstream Park. He held off Shivaree by a neck at the finish. Pro Quality finished third.

Circus Rings won the $100,000 Pay the Man Stakes by a neck over Sally Strong. Magna Man won Governor's Buckeye Cup by one-and-a-half lengths. Dougie D Oro won Honey Jay Stake by 2 3/4 lengths over Nick Can Fix.

Canoodling won the Albuquerque Distaff Handicap. Raagheb came from last of seven to win the J R Malouff Handiap by a neck.

Background won Sunday's $100,000 Grade III Longacres Mile. Princess of Cairo won the $50,00 Emerald Distaff. Compelling Smile was second and Galileta third.
