The next Scheffler? Who gets maiden major breakthrough in 2023?

The season of championships begins in March 2023 with THE PLAYERS at TPC Sawgrass. The Masters takes place at Augusta National on April 6-9. PGA Championship takes places at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester New York from May 18-21. U.S. Open takes part at the Los Angeles Country club on June 15-18. Open Championship is played at Royal Liverpool from July 20-23. Rory McIlroy is the favourite to win one of the four majors in 20 23.

Aaron Wise is the outlier of this group. He has just two top 25s and zero top 10s in 14 starts at the PLAYERS or majors. Wise won AT&T Byron Nelson in his debut season.

Tom Kim is a young player who has won the Wyndham Championship recently. He has four previous major appearances and his best result was 23rd place at the 2022 U.S. Open.

Cameron Young is favorite to win the Arnold Palmer Award as Rookie of the Year from last season. He has two top 3 finishes in the majors and finished second on Tour in SG: Tee-to-Green.

Max Homa is a prospect on the rise. He has won multiple tournaments in the last 18 months. Homas best results in big tournaments are T13s from the 2022 PLAYERS and 2022 PGA Championship.

Will Zalatoris is a player who has five top 10s in majors from nine starts. He has runner up results at the Masters, U.S. Open and PGA Championship.

Sam Burns has four wins in the last 18 months and is a major contender. He finished T20 in last year's PGA Championship.

Sungjae Im is a favorite to win a major in 2023. He was a breakout star for the Internationals in 2019 and will look to carry much of the load again in 2022.

Viktor Hovland is the third favourite to win a major in 2023. He won the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba last November and the Hero World Challenge in November. Hvland failed to contend at the first three majors of the year, but he came to a share of a 54-hole lead at The Open Championship.

Patrick Cantlay has managed just three top 10s in his 28 appearances at the majors and PLAYERS. Cantay has a FedExCup, three Playoff wins and two Memorial Tournament titles as part of his eight career TOUR wins.

Xander Schauffele has nine top 10s in majors from 22 starts and a runner up at the PLAYERS Championship. Tony Finau is +750, Tyrrell Hatton +1100, Daniel Berger +1400, Tommy Fleetwood +1500, Corey Conners +1600, Billy Horschel +1800, Seamus Power + 1800, Mito Pereira +2500, Tom Hoge +3300 and Kevin Kisner +3000.
