Even with an injury to Keith Thurman days before Premier Boxing Champions’ debut on Prime Video, the show must go on. WBO super welterweight champion Tim Tszyu will now face Sebastian Fundora on March 30.

The fight will be for the vacant WBC super welterweight title and Tszyu’s WBO belt. Tszyu was supposed to fight Thurman, a former welterweight champion, in a non-title affair. Fundora was booked to face Serhii Bohachuk for the vacant WBC title before he got the call to replace Thurman, who last fought in 2022 and was forced out of the fight due to a training injury.

The son of former world champion Kostya Tszyu, Tim is a 2011 Australian National Championships bronze medalist. "The Soul Taker" turned pro in 2016 and made himself known in 2020 by beating former welterweight champion Jeff Horn. He then took down the likes of Dennis Hogan, Terrell Gausha, and Tony Harrison, the last contest a TKO win against for the interim WBO super welterweight title.

Tszyu was supposed to fight then-undisputed super welterweight champion Jermell Charlo, but the latter suffered a hand injury and later fought Canelo Alvarez for super middleweight gold. He remained active and beat Brian Mendoza in October to become the full-time WBO champion.

The 5-8 Tszyu now has a big test ahead of him, literally, as Fundora stands around 6-5, while Thurman stands at around 5-9.

Fundora made his pro debut in 2016. "The Towering Inferno” beat Erickson Lubin in 2022 for the interim WBC super welterweight title. His last outing was a knockout loss against former world champion Brian Mendoza in April 2023. The 26-year-old Fundora is ready for the step-up fight.
