Tips From The Big Bookies for Saturday, August 12

Racenet‘s stable of bookies have got stuck into the form for Saturday's racing around the country.

They have given their tip for The Rosebud and Spring Preview Handicap (race nine) at Rosehill.

On top of that, each bookie has given their selection for the Group 3 Behemoth Stakes at Morphettville., plus a best and value bet across the country.

Matthew Campbell – BetR

ROSEBUD – THE INSTRUCTOR – Race 8 No.1 (Rosehill)The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott stable has two of the main chances and I'm leaning toward The Instructor. He will be either lead or be second and give a kick in the straight.

SPRING PREVIEW – PERICLES – Race 9 No.2 (Rosehill)

While 1400 metres isn't his ideal distance, I think he is the best horse in the race and it's a great starting point for a classy preparation. Last time he was first-up he was beaten less than a length in a Group 2.

BEHEMOTH – SEE YOU IN HEAVEN –Race 8 No.10 (Morphettville)

She is back on her favourite track and her fresh record is good. Her trial win suggests she will be primed. She has drawn wide, but Savatoxl will ensure there is genuine speed in the race.

BEST – ASPEN COLORADO – Race 4 No.3 (The Valley)

Comes off a good second last start when coming from last in a Benchmark 78. He drops back to Benchmark 70, has a good record at The Valley and is going well.

VALUE – SMASHING EAGLE – Race 10 No.13 (Rosehill)

Was unlucky not to beat the promising Mogo Magic last start and prior to that has form behind other horses on the up Brudenell and Omni Man. This is his pet distance as well.

Tim Ryan – TAB

ROSEBUD – TIZ INVINCIBLE – Race 8 No.2 (Rosehill)
Maps perfectly and judging by her trials, she looks to have come back a better filly. Hard to beat and on her way to better things this preparation.
SPRING PREVIEW – GLINT OF SILVER – Race 9 No.12 (Rosehill)
Has the run under the belt, should get on pace favours and has no weight. Not to mention he has a win over Pericles last preparation at level weights.
BEHEMOTH – SAVATOXL –Race 8 No.1 (Morphettville)
Best horse in the race and is well suited under the weight-for-age conditions. The form line through his second up win last preparation also reads well for this.
BEST – OMNI MAN – Race 9 No.4 (The Valley)
Omni Man is absolutely flying this preparation. Even better suited back to the 1000m and Dragonstone backed up his form line last weekend with a runner up finish in the Missile Stakes.
VALUE – DANISH PRINCE – Race 7 No.6 (Rosehill)
Forget about last start in Melbourne. He has had no luck at all in his Sydney runs. From gate one he will get the run of the race and will give a big sight.

Sam Phillips – Sportsbet

ROSEBUD – TIZ INVINCIBLE – Race 8 No.2 (Rosehill)
Should get a gun run in behind the leader here for James McDonald. Trust him to find a passage clear at the right time and prove too strong late in The Rosebud.
SPRING PREVIEW – KALINO – Race 9 No.4 (Rosehill)
Chris Waller has a strong hand in this field but reckon Kalino is the pick of the bunch. He won well first-up over 1300m and will just need some luck from the draw to be in the finish here.
BEHEMOTH – SAVATOXL – Race 8 No.1 (Morphettville)
The Group 1 Goodwood winner loves this track and trip. Will map well and his best will be very hard to beat here and what does look a half decent field.
BEST – CABALLUS – Race 1 No.2 (Rosehill)
Start Saturday off right with this promising colt. Loved the initial turn of foot and then, the fight this horse showed when winning second-up. Was strong through the line and can go on with it here.
VALUE – DIESEL ‘N' DUST – Race 5 No.7 (The Valley)
Never easy going from synthetic back to turf but he's going well. Thomas Stockdale won't have too hard a time finding a position from the barrier. Can win at a price.

Josh Bell – Ladbrokes

ROSEBUD – TIZ INVINCIBLE – Race 8 No.2 (Rosehill)
Was last seen finished second in the Group 2 Percy Sykes Stakes at Randwick over 1200m. Most recent trial win suggests she is ready to perform first-up.
SPRING PREVIEW – PERICLES – Race 9 No.2 (Rosehill)
Was beaten by the barest of margins in the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas and didn't see out the trip in the Australian Derby. Trial win leading into this first-up assignment and James McDonald stick with him.
BEHEMOTH – CALYPSO REIGN – Race 8 No.3 (Morphettville)
Five of his eight wins have been at this distance and has a placing in the Group 2 Australia Stakes in January. Liked his trial and if there is some speed on up front, look for him late.
BEST – OMNI MAN – Race 9 No.4 (The Valley)
One of the most progressive horses in the entire country and broke through in black type company last time out. His front running style will suit The Valley and he'll be incredibly tough to run down.
VALUE – SATNESS – Race 2 No.13 (Rosehill)
Has been up for a long time but racing well. Has earned his chance in town after two impressive wins in a row and can measure up at double figure odds.

Cameron McKinnon – Pointsbet

ROSEBUD – CIGAR FLICK – Race 8 No.5 (Rosehill)
Has come back a better horse. She stepped slow first-up with the blinkers on in small field and was held up for a long portion of straight but put them away in a matter of a few strides.
SPRING PREVIEW – KALINO – Race 9 No.4 (Rosehill)
This solid performer from the Chris Waller camp already has a win at this track and distance on his impressive resume and can add another one here at an attractive price.
BEHEMOTH – MANHATTEN TIMES –Race 8 No.5 (Morphettville)
Likely to be the beneficiary of a good trail into race and he can reel off great closing splits. His highest rating is not reflected in current price and happy to speculate here.
BEST – LIEVORE – Race 3 No.7 (The Valley)
Looking to repeat her all-the-way win at this track and trip from a fortnight ago. Although the rail will be in true position, history dictates a positive return on investment for leaders at The Valley.
VALUE – MISS TAKE – Race 10 No.12 (The Valley)
Seems suited to Jamie Mott's strong riding style. Expect to be ridden positive early, settle into a rhythm here and she really strikes me as a horse suited to The Valley. Will give punters a great sight.

Chris Gregory – PlayUp

ROSEBUD – INTRODUCING – Race 8 No.4 (Rosehill)
Returns after a short campaign at the start of the year where he won and ran some good races in sharp company before being tipped out. Has returned well with two trial wins.
SPRING PREVIEW – MISSION PHOENIX – Race 9 No.7 (Rosehill)
Capable of a good run fresh. Doesn't look to be too much speed on paper and with the good gate he can take up a forward position and be hard to catch at good each-way odds.
BEHEMOTH – CALYPSO REIGN – Race 8 No.3 (Morphettville)
Tackles this race first-up and performs well fresh. Looks to get a great run behind the leader Savatoxl and can creep into the race at the right time. Will be a few lengths in front of the favourite turning for home.
BEST – WIZARD OF OZ – Race 4 No.5 (Rosehill)
Was a tough watch last start where he never got clear air after looking the winner at the top of the straight. Gets a 2.5kg weight swing on Iron Will this week and should be still wound up enough.
VALUE – ROSOVO – Race 9 No.10 (Eagle Farm)
Looked a good thing last start however he got back too far at Doomben with the rail out and struggled to make much ground on the leaders. This looks a much better set up for him with the bigger track.

David Mackay – TopSport

ROSEBUD – TIZ INVINCIBLE – Race 8 No.2 (Rosehill)
Trialled beautifully on both occasions in readiness for this hence her short price. Looks to get a lovely trail from barrier one behind the leaders and prove too strong late with James McDonald aboard.
SPRING PREVIEW – BANANA QUEEN – Race 9 No.15 (Rosehill)
Had a lovely run first-up, but the big weight took its toll late. Drops 7kg here and has won two from three second-up. Could be the one late to grab the win.
BEHEMOTH – IRONCLAD – Race 8 No.2 (Morphettville)
Has had the benefit of two trials leading into this first-up assignment. Comes to hand quickly, races extremely well fresh whilst also enjoys racing at the track and distance.
BEST – KANAZAWA – Race 2 No.3 (Eagle Farm)
Touch disappointing last start when unable to overrun Hasten Delight . Generally runs well third-up, senior rider takes over with the addition of blinkers first time.
VALUE – ENTERPRISE MIA – Race 3 No.12 (Eagle Farm)
Rolled forward from an awkward gate and worked along in front. Back on her home track, gets a soft draw and with a minimal early tempo I expect her to give a bold sight

Clint Wallis – Neds

ROSEBUD – INTRODUCING – Race 8 No.4 (Rosehill)
Debut winner at Warwick Farm before finishing less than two lengths behind the eventual Golden Slipper winner in the Pago Pago. Has looked impressive at the trials, winning both.
SPRING PREVIEW – PERICLES – Race 9 No.2 (Rosehill)
Enjoyed a successful autumn campaign, winning a Group 2 in Melbourne and missed taking out the Rosehill Guineas by the barest of margins. Won his most recent trial at Canterbury.
BEHEMOTH – SEE YOU IN HEAVEN –Race 8 No.10 (Morphettville)
Two runs earlier this year saw her finish as runner up in both the Durbridge and the Vanity Stakes. Has a strong first-up record and is yet to finish outside the quinella at the track and trip.
BEST – HELIX – Race 10 No.10 (The Valley)
Comfortable winner on debut at Pakenham and followed that with back-to-back runner up finishes before heading for a spell. With his early speed and an inside draw he should be able to hold the front.
VALUE – HOT SPRING GOLD – Race 3 No.2 (Eagle Farm)
Wasn't the best away in the Ramornie but made some good ground late. Didn't have much go his way last time out so being forgiving of that effort. Steps up to 1500m this week.

Zach Littman – BetNation

ROSEBUD – TIZ INVINCIBLE – Race 8 No.2 (Rosehill)
Although yet to register a win, Tiz Invincible looks ready to strike first-up. Was backed off the map on debut at Canberra when just getting too far back.SPRING PREVIEW – BANANA QUEEN – Race 9 No.15 (Rosehill)The 52kg will play a vital role here. There's plenty of speed in the race, so Tyler Schiller can smoke the pipe from the back and be warming up late. Great bet at the each-way odds.

BEHEMOTH – SEE YOU IN HEAVEN – Race 8 No.10 (Morphettville)
This mare will be short in the market but rightly so. She looks to have come back in fine fashion after a quiet trial, and although drawing wide, Jake Toeroek will be able to balance her up and storm home.

BEST – LUNA CAT – Race 10 No.13 (The Valley)
Was a big run first-up when three-wide the trip but managed to battle on to finish a length behind in second. Strips fitter draws ideally and has won at The Valley in the past.
VALUE – TRISTATE – Race 5 No.8 (Rosehill)
I thought this bloke was disappointing last week, but the quick back-up suggests the camp thinks he can bounce back. Will have a fitness edge on a few of the returning gallopers.

James Thomas – Palmerbet

ROSEBUD – THE INSTRUCTOR – Race 8 No.1 (Rosehill)
Won his first two starts in fine fashion before fading in the Group 1 Blue Diamond after going hard out in front. Looks to have matured well and has put in two solid trials in preparation for this.
SPRING PREVIEW – PERICLES – Race 9 No.2 (Rosehill)
Only the two victories from nine starts but just about every race has been at Group 1 and Group 2 level. His latest trial at Canterbury was terrific and he looks primed to go first-up.
BEHEMOTH – SEE YOU IN HEAVEN – Race 8 No.10 (Morphettville)
Ran second in January in the Listed Durbridge Stakes before another second in the Vanity Stakes at Flemington. Was sent for a spell and looks to have come back better than ever.
BEST – WINEGLASS BAY – Race 3 No.5 (Rosehill)
Two solid hit outs this preparation and looks set to peak here third-up. Stays at 1800m, James McDonald rides, trained by Chris Waller and he ticks all the boxes.
VALUE – POWERFUL PEG – Race 6 No.2 (Rosehill)
Impressive win last start at Warwick Farm where she pushed forward from the wide gate. Will be hard rock hard fit fourth-up and I think the 1400m suits.

Matt Steed – Bet365

ROSEBUD – TIZ INVINCIBLE – Race 8 No.2 (Rosehill)
Smart filly that looked to have plenty of upside after her first preparation. Looked to trial very well leading into this and with the booking of James McDonald, she should prove hard to beat.
SPRING PREVIEW – PERFECT THOUGHT – Race 9 No.9 (Rosehill)
Lightly raced four-year-old that took the next step last preparation. Has a good gate and looked to trial well. Think he will be in the finish and at the decent odds he's worth a play
BEHEMOTH – SEE YOU IN HEAVEN – Race 8 No.10 (Morphettville)
Promising mare resuming here after racing well in the spring and early summer. Won a trial in preparation for this and despite the outside gate she should prove hard to beat.
BEST – CALL DI – Race 6 No.8 (Rosehill)
Lightly raced Mare that contested some good races during the autumn, being placed at Group 2 level. Looked to trial well in a strong heat leading into this and she looks to come up well.
VALUE – TRISTATE – Race 5 No.8 (Rosehill)
Should be ready to peak after two runs back and drawn to get a good run here. Has a fitness edge over his main rivals and should give a great sight at the current odds on offer.
