Hockenson Betting Trends and Stats
Hockenson’s 4.4 yards-per-reception average in Week 1 was his second-lowest ever in a game where he had five or more receptions.
Hockenson Best Bet
Considering he has been a catching machine since he came over to the Vikings midseason last year — has at least five receptions in 8 of 11 games since joining Minnesota — the simple best bet would be to take the over on 4.5 receptions for Hockenson. But at -160, you will not see a lot of return for your investment.
Instead, I’m looking at the under in receiving yards for Hockenson in this game. While he is certainly more than capable of topping the 50-yard receiving mark, I am a little skeptical of that after seeing Hockenson gaining just 35 yards on eight catches in Week 1.
The Eagles will try and put the clamps defensively on WR Justin Jefferson, leaving players like Hockenson and/or WR Jordan Addison to take advantage. Until I see otherwise, I’m going to back Addison more in this game than Hockenson.
