Goodwood racing tips

1.50: Perfuse 3/1 - 1pt

Another big runner for Ryan Moore who's been finding plenty of winners on the saddle this season, including in the biggest possible races.

This Class 2 handicap looks nice and open but it's still the favourite at 3/1 who's best to side with.

The colt will have to give away plenty of weight to his lower-rated rivals but he's shown great form prior to coming a decent fifth at Royal Ascot in June.

He stepped up to 1m4f at Doncaster and it looked like the natural progression but the Sir Michael Stoute-trained three-year-old was even more impressive at Nottingham over 1m2f, beating Rogue Sea by over seven lengths.

Crucially, this Lope De Vega colt is versatile ground-wise so it won't matter how much rain they get at Goodwood over the course of Wednesday.

2.25: Bobsleigh 10/1 each-way - 1pt & Toca Madera 18/1 each-way - 1pt

The ground on Wednesday was soft with plenty of rain over the course of the day and it's set to go into the evening as well, before drying over Thursday.

That will still mean it should be on the soft side which is a bit of a question mark for most of these horses.

But Toca Madera is a great each-way play ahead of knowing fully what the ground is like as his sire Bated Breath was up there in a couple of finishes on soft ground.

Toca Madera is a huge price and only needs to find a couple of lengths on Jasour, the clear market leader.

Baring in mind that was just his first run over this trip there could be some untapped potential in that respect and warrants each-way money.

Now Bobsleigh is also a nice price, whereas you can't quite justify a 9/4 price in what is still a very unpredictable race, even with his prominent form.

Bobsleigh will go well on this type of sharp track and was ninth last time out when dropped back to 5f; a return to 6f will be ideal, especially after that Coventry Stakes run, just three lengths behind River Tiber.

3.00: Espionage 13/8

Ryan Moore and Aidan O'Brien combine to send out this promising and top-rated of the field three-year-old in the Gordon Stakes over 1m4f.

Artistic Star is a big runner having placed seventh in the Derby in Jun before following that up with an improved third place finish behind King Of Steel, again, in the Royal Ascot King Edward VII Stakes.

But he may still have something to find against the horse from the highly successful in-form yard with a decent enough win behind Young Ireland last time out on step up close to 1m4f.

Showed speed to come second behind Proud And Regal in the Group 1 Criterium International in France in October and if the market keeps shortening, there's yet another good sign.

It wouldn't be a bad thing to cover with an exacta on the two though.

3.35: Nashwa 2/1 - 1pt

Blue Rose Cen is the obvious choice, even money favourite and carrying 8lb less than the majority of her rivals who are a year older.

But Nashwa, by Frankel, has defied these sorts of limits before just a couple of weeks ago beating Remarquee by an impressive five lengths, seemingly coming back to form.

It's also crucial that she's won over this course and distance before in this race last year and won ahead of Aristia by nearly two lengths.

It will be a tough one but if she's at her best she will be hard to beat, with Blue Rose Cen's latest form not being boosted by Never Ending Story's poor subsequent runs.

5.20: Ornellaia 3/1 - 1pt & Exacta with Get Jiggy With It - 0.5pt

Ornellaia's form has been boosted significantly as her debut saw Sacred Angel winning by two lengths and has since gone on to win by three lengths in a Group 3 at Ascot at the weekend.

This intriguing fillies' stakes also sees real potential with Get Jiggy With It, which could see Frankie Dettori right up there at the finish once more after she impressed to come second on debut.

It's incredibly open though and it might be worth siding each-way on Really Darn Hot as well, with Hollie Doyle on board, for the filly's debut at a huge price.

Galway racing tips

2.45: Hercule Du Seuil 11/10 - 1pt

It's another Willie Mullins-trained horse that's clear favourite but this six-year-old has much more experience than some of his other short priced runners we've seen so far.

In the infamous John P McManus silks, the gelding has won his last two chases, both by 13 lengths.

Jockey Mark Walsh has been enjoying plenty of success and was going into Wednesday's fixture with an 80% win-rate.

The latest success speaks volumes too, beating Solness comfortably despite the horse rated as highly as 135.

The five-year-old trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien is a 10/1 shot to reverse the placings but the market tells all it seems.

P+L since 10/07/23: +37.75pts
