Top 25 Roundup: Notre Dame Dents No. 4 Clemson’s CFP Hopes

Notre Dame defeated No. 4 Clemson 35-14 in South Bend, Ind. Logan Diggs and Audric Estime each rushed for over 100 yards. Benjamin Morrison intercepted DJ Uiagalelei and returned it 96 yards for a 28-0 lead. Clemson scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to keep the Tigers out of the national championship picture.

No. 3 Georgia defeated No. 1 Tennessee 27-13 in Southeastern Conference play at Athens, Ga. Stetson Bennett passed for two touchdowns and rushed for one. Ladd McConkey caught five passes for 94 yards and a touchdown.

Miyan Williams scored two second-half touchdowns for the visiting Buckeyes in a win against the Wildcats in Big Ten play. C.J. Stroud passed for a career-low 76 yards on 10-of-26 passing. Northwestern lost its eighth straight game.

No. 5 Michigan beats Rutgers 52-17 in Piscataway, N.J. Blake Corum ran for 109 yards and two touchdowns, Donovan Edwards had 161 yards from scrimmage with a touchdown, and J. J McCarthy went 13-for-27 passing for 151 yards. Gavin Wimsatt completed 14 of 29 passes for 166 yards, a touchdowns and three interceptions for Rutgers.

No. 10 LSU beats No. 6 Alabama 32-31 in overtime in a Southeastern Conference game in Baton Rouge, La. Jayden Daniels threw two touchdown passes, ran for a touchdown and passed for the winning two-point conversion. Bryce Young passed 328 yards and a touchdowns for Alabama.

No. 7 TCU beats Texas Tech 34-24 in Fort Worth. The Horned Frogs remain unbeaten. They trailed by four points entering the fourth quarter.

Bo Nix ran for two touchdowns and threw two touchdown passes to lead the Ducks to a Pac-12 win over the Buffaloes. Oregon remains the Pac 12's only undefeated team.

No. 9 Southern Cal defeated Cal 41-35 in Los Angeles. Caleb Williams passed for four touchdowns and rushed for a fifth. Jack Plummer went 35-of-49 passing for 406 yards for Cal.

No. 12 UCLA beats Arizona State 50-36 in Tempe, Ariz. Dorian Thompson-Robinson throws for two touchdowns and runs for another two. Kazmeir Allen rushes for 137 yards on 11 attempts. Arizona St. quarterback Trenton Bourguet completed 38 of 49 passes for 349 yards with two touchdown and an interception.

No. 24 Texas defeated No. 13 Kansas State 34-27 in Manhattan, Kan., to move into a three-way tie for second in the Big 12. Texas led 31-10 at halftime, but K-State twice cut the deficit to one score.

No. 14 Utah defeated Arizona 45-20 in Salt Lake City. The Utes ran 55 times for 306 yards and recovered four fumbles. Arizona's Jayden de Laura completed 10 of 20 throws for 159 yards.

No. 15 Penn State beat Indiana 45-14 in Bloomington. Kaytron Allen scored three touchdowns and had 158 yards from scrimmage. Sean Clifford threw for 229 yards and Mitchell Tinsley had five catches for 63 yards.

Payton Thorne went 19-of-29 passing for 182 yards and two touchdowns to lead Michigan State to an upset win over the Fighting Illini in Champaign, Ill. Jalen Berger rushed for 81 yards on 15 carries for Michigan, which won on the road for the first time in four tries. Tommy DeVito went 25-for-37 passing and had 136 yards rushing for Illinois.

No. 17 North Carolina beat Virginia 31-28 in Charlottesville, Va. Drake Maye threw for 293 yards and ran for a third. Josh Downs recorded 162 yards on 14 receptions.

Kansas beat Oklahoma State 37-16 in a Big 12 Conference game in Lawrence, Kan. Jason Bean passed for two scores and ran 73 yards for another. Devin Neal ran for 224 yards and a touchdown. The win assures Kansas a place in the bowl for the first time since 2008.

Tulane stays top of the American Athletic Conference with a 27-13 win over Tulsa. Tyjae Spears rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown. Michael Pratt completed 11 of 19 passes for 125 yards with TD tosses to Tyrick James and Shae Wyatt. Shaadie Clayton-Johnson topped the 100-yard rushing mark for the first time with 106 yards on 14 carries.

Pittsburgh beats No. 20 Syracuse 19-9. Rodney Hammond Jr. ran for 124 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Garrett Shrader missed the game with a concussion.

No. 22 NC State defeated Wake Forest 30-21 in Raleigh, N.C. The Wolfpack's MJ Morris threw three touchdown passes. Darryl Jones caught two of the touchdown throws. Christopher Dunn kicked field goals of 33, 51 and 25 yards.

Mikey Keene threw three touchdown passes in place of usual starter John Rhys Plumlee to lead the visiting Golden Knights to a win over the Tigers.
