David Elsworth retires after 50 years as a trainer. He was British champion jumps trainer in 1987-88 season. Elworth's horse Desert Orchid won four King George VI Chases, the 1989 Cheltenham Gold Cup and the Irish Grand National. His Gold cup win was voted the best race ever in Britain and Ireland. He also trained Rhyme ‘n’ Reason and Barnbrook Again. On the flat, Elowski trained Persian Punch and In The Groove.

Zac Purton, Lyle Hewitson and Yuichi Fukunaga were injured in a fall at the Hong Kong International Races at Sha Tin on Sunday. Amazing Star and Naboo Attack had to be euthanized. Sky Field won the race. The other two races were won by Japanese jockeys. The winner Golden Sixty has risen to #4 in the TRC Global Rankings.

Ascot has announced record prize money of £15.64 million in 2022. This is an increase of nearly £2 million on 2019. Royal Ascot will be worth £8,652,500 in 2018. Tuesday's card will become the festival's first £ 2 million day. Prince of Wales's Stakes and the Platinum (formerly Diamond) Jubilee Stake will have a total prize fund of $1 million. No race will cost less than £100,000.

Fasig-Tipton is the title sponsor of the Clasico Las Oaks, which has been run at the Hipico de Santiago since 1905. The race will be held on Friday, December 17th. Y Nada Mas, owned by Stud Haras Don Alberto, is likely favourite for the 2,000-metre race.

Bob Baffert has been awarded $109,000 in attorney fees from NYRA. Tattersalls won a case against trainer Tom George and bloodstock agent Alex Elliott in Europe.
