The 2022 MLB Draft takes place tomorrow at 4 p.m. PT. The Toronto Blue Jays have 22 draft picks this season. They have $8,367,700 in pool money for all 22 picks. Marcus Semien and Robbie Ray rejected their qualifying offers and signed elsewhere earlier this year. Their first pick is at #23. Following that selection, they will draft at #60, #77, 78, and #98. Steve Karsay and Marcus Stroman were drafted around the #3 slot in the past.
Ross Atkins has drafted college-level players with the Blue Jays' first pick since becoming general manager in the 2015 offseason. His first picks were T.J. Zeuch, Logan Warmoth, Jordan Groshans, Alek Manoah, Austin Martin, Gunnar Hoglund and Kendall Williams. The Blue Jay's most recent first-round picks have been traded away. The Jays are expected to pick an outfielder in this year's draft. There are some prep school players ranked in their area. They went to Tennessee last year with Chad Dallas. It will be interesting if Drew Gilbert is on the board.
